Teachers’ Day Celebration 2026 at Hindu Higher Secondary School, Triplicane
Event Overview
Teachers’ Day was grandly celebrated at Hindu Higher Secondary School, Triplicane, by the School Alumni Association. As Secretary of the Alumni Association, it was a privilege to be present alongside esteemed teachers, students, and other dignitaries for this meaningful occasion.
This year marked the fourth consecutive year that the Alumni Association has organised this programme to honour the school’s teachers—a testament to the enduring commitment of alumni towards their alma mater and its educators.
Programme Highlights
Inaugural Segment
The programme commenced with Tamizh Thai Vazhthu, followed by the school’s special prayer to Lord Rama, setting a reverent and cultural tone for the celebration.
Welcome Address by the Secretary
Sri K. Murugan, Secretary of the Alumni Association, delivered a brief address to the audience, focusing on:
• The role of teachers in modern India, especially in guiding students through a world filled with distractions.
• The critical importance of discipline as a foundation for achieving life goals and realising dreams.
• A call to students to respect and value their teachers as mentors and nation-builders.
A one-minute silence was observed for the late President Sri S. Ramachandran of the Alumni Association, as a mark of respect and solidarity to the departed soul.
Address by the Head Master
Sri G. Jeganathan, Head Master, wished the teachers and complimented the Alumni Association for their unconditional support and empathy towards school students and teachers. He expressed confidence that the programme would excel year after year.
Special Address by Dr. S. Ramanathan
Dr. S. Ramanathan, a renowned scholar, columnist, and Chief Editor of the Alumni Association Newsletter, made a vibrant speech highlighting:
• The origin and culture of our tradition and the key roles of the Guru in reaching the goals in our life.
• He complimented each and every teacher and urged them to be more thoughtful, provocative, and adhere to modern techniques of teaching.
• He interacted with students and made them feel free to express their thoughts.
Special Tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
In honour of Teachers’ Day and in the spirit of Dr. Kalam’s legacy as a teacher and visionary, photoframes of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam were presented during the event.
Honouring the Teachers
• All teachers were felicitated with gifts in recognition of their dedication and service.
Address by Dr. Ansari
Dr. Ansari, Vice President, made an address showering all the teachers with praise and appreciated them to continue the same. He conducted a small quiz among the students and gave away cash prizes to the winners.
Special Lunch
A special lunch was organised in honour of the teaching staff, fostering a warm and appreciative atmosphere.
Closing Ceremony
The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, reinforcing values of patriotism and unity.
Significance of the Event
This celebration not only honoured the teachers but also strengthened the bond between alumni, current students, and the school community. It served as a reminder of the timeless value of education, mentorship, and discipline in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders.
