Republic Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Hindu Higher Secondary School, Triplicane

Dr. C. Jagadeesh, Senior Consultant in the Internal Medicine Department at Apollo Hospitals, served as the Chief Guest for the flag-hoisting ceremony on Republic Day, January 26, 2026, at Hindu Higher Secondary School, Triplicane.
He received a full guard of honour from the NCC students and unfurled the Indian Tricolour. The event featured renditions of the Tamil song Thayin Mani Kodi Paareer and Tamil Thai Valthu. It drew a large gathering of students, teachers, and alumni.

Other dignitaries present included School Secretary Shri M.O. Ram Manoj, Alumni Secretary K. Murugan, Alumni Joint Secretary T. Anand, and EC Member of the Alumni Association Shri S. Sundar Subba Rao.

HM Shri G. Jeganathan praised the alumni involvement and highlighted the key role of inviting an alumnus as Chief Guest to motivate students to work hard and smart.

School Secretary Shri Ram Manoj elaborated on the significance of Republic Day and the contributions of school alumni Dr. Subbarayan and TT Krishnamachari who were part of the constituent assembly and later ministers in former prime minister Shri .Jawaharlal Nehru’s cabinet.

The Chief Guest, Dr. C. Jagadeesh, emphasized that India will become a superpower thanks to its young minds. He urged students to work harder in their early years for a peaceful future, noting that success comes not only from academics but also from excelling in sports and arts.

The programme was coordinated by school teacher Shri Sethuraman, with the Chief Guest introduced by Shri S. Ramakrishnan. The Chief guest was honoured with a shawl and a book.

Students delivered emphatic motivational speeches on Republic Day.

Additionally, a special competition organized by the Alumni Association on the eve of Republic Day saw gifts awarded to top performers.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by school teacher Smt. Renuka, followed by the National Anthem.
